Abstract

This study aims to determine the current employment status of Psychology graduates from Bestlink College of the Philippines and assess the alignment of their jobs with their academic background. Variables considered in the study include educational background, professional examinations or certifications passed, advanced studies pursued after college, and employment data. Additionally, the study examines communication, human relations, leadership, problem-solving, and research skills to evaluate the extent to which the school's program contributed to graduates’ professional development. The respondents of this study are graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program from the batches of 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023. Findings indicate that a portion of graduates obtained professional certifications, such as BLEPP (15.39%) and Civilian Consultancy PFA (7.69%), while a significant percentage (69.23%) did not pursue further studies in 2019. Graduates rated the program positively regarding its contribution to their skill development, with mean scores predominantly falling within the "Great Extent" range across all variables and years. Analysis of the data revealed that the p-value exceeded the significance level of 0.05, leading to the acceptance of the null hypothesis. These findings suggest that the program may not be specifically designed to target certain skills, or that external factors beyond the program influence skill development among psychology graduates. The researchers recommend implementing an action plan to assist future psychology students in exploring potential career paths after graduation.
