Abstract

Crime rates in the Philippines have been on an upward trajectory annually. In response, the government has implemented various measures aimed at combating and decreasing these rates. Police presence has been strategically enhanced, with officers and police stations established in every barangay to bolster community security and safety. This initiative has positively influenced crime statistics. This investigation is a quantitative analysis involving the collection and examination of numerical data. The survey participants include 10 police officers, 10 barangay officials, and 30 residents, selected without regard to gender. The researchers employed a purposive sampling technique, a non-probability method that allows for the selection of respondents based on predetermined criteria. A custom-designed survey questionnaire was utilized to collect the necessary data for this study. This study indicated that the effectiveness of Police Patrol in Barangay 165 Bagbaguin, Caloocan City, is predominantly observed among individuals aged 18 to 23 years, with 17 respondents falling within this age group. The demographic analysis reveals that the majority of respondents are male, comprising 59.2% of the total. Regarding educational attainment, a significant portion, 40.2%, has completed college-level education. The respondents' assessment of mobility was interpreted as strongly agree, yielding an overall mean score of 3.78. Furthermore, the police patrol faces challenges related to technology, including malfunctions or failures in vehicles, communication systems, and GPS, which can hinder police mobility and coordination. To enhance the effectiveness of police patrol operations, it is advisable to implement a collaborative strategy that incorporates community engagement efforts, including neighborhood watch initiatives and community policing programs. Improving communication pathways between patrol units and dispatch centers through dependable communication technologies and consistent briefings can lead to better coordination and increased response efficiency. Furthermore, developing explicit protocols for emergency situations and performing regular assessments of patrol methodologies can assist in pinpointing areas needing enhancement and guarantee proactive measures in addressing new challenges.
