THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LABORATORY FACILITIES IN DEVELOPING ARTS AND CRAFT SKILLS OF THE 2ND YEAR BTLED STUDENT OF BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES S.Y.2023

Abstract

According to Sitelogicblog, students focus better when they're comfortable and are more likely to attend classes. The study assesses the skills of the respondents in arts and crafts, specifically in letter cutting, embroidering, printing, and creating instructional materials. It also examines the extent of the effectiveness of laboratory facilities as perceived by the respondents in practical application, collaboration, and utilization. The researchers used a descriptive design and quantitative method to analyze data on the effectiveness of laboratory facilities in developing arts and crafts among 50 BTLED students at Bestlink College of the Philippines, using purposive sampling to ensure similar demographics. The research explores the role of laboratory facilities in skill development, identifying gaps in existing literature. It uses surveys to understand 2nd-year BTLED students' perceptions of available resources and proposes guidelines for improving laboratory facilities for arts and crafts skills. This study highlights that the respondents generally have positive perceptions of various aspects related to letter cutting, embroidery, printing laboratories, and instructional materials, as well as the extent of the effectiveness of laboratory facilities as perceived by the respondents in practical application, collaboration, and utilization. The research underscores the importance of investing in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to create an environment conducive to holistic skill development. As the BTLED program seeks to prepare students for both academic and vocational pursuits, understanding the nuances of how laboratory resources contribute to their artistic competencies becomes integral to optimizing educational outcomes. These findings emphasize the significance of creating and maintaining conducive learning environments to support students in their pursuit of excellence in arts and crafts. Facilities and resources are seen as valuable for enhancing creativity, skill development, and overall growth in arts and crafts.
