Abstract

The researchers conducted a study titled "The Influence of Reward and Recognition on Employee Motivation at Hefty Power System Corporation." This study evaluates the impact of reward and recognition strategies on employee motivation, aiming to understand how these factors contribute to enhancing employee engagement and overall performance within the organization. This study utilizes a quantitative descriptive-correlational research design. Purposive sampling was employed to select 45 respondents. For data analysis, the researchers applied frequency and percentage to describe the data distribution, weighted mean to calculate the average, ranking to organize data from least to greatest, and a t-test to assess the null hypothesis. This study focused on employees from Hefty Power System Corporation, analyzing the results of the assessment. The statement "Proactive in seeking mentorship or guidance to enhance my chances of promotion" received the highest weighted mean of 3.67, while "Aware that promotions are based on our performance" had the lowest weighted mean of 3.49. Additionally, the statement "Cash incentives are a fair means of acknowledging contributions to the organization" earned a weighted mean of 3.63, showing that employees view cash incentives as an equitable method for recognizing their contributions.  For the certificate of appreciation, all indicators were highly influential, with weighted means ranging from 3.51 to 3.64. In the case of detailed feedback, the indicators also showed significant influence, with weighted means ranging from 3.40 to 3.62. Regarding employee appreciation events, all indicators were deemed highly influential, with weighted means ranging from 3.53 to 3.68.  The overall impact of rewards on employee motivation, with a composite mean of 3.60, falls within the "Highly Influential" range. This affirms that employee appreciation events have a strong positive influence on motivation within the company. The study demonstrates a strong positive relationship between merit-based pay and employee satisfaction and motivation. Adopting merit-based pay systems, which reward employees based on their performance and contributions, not only enhances satisfaction with compensation but also serves as a powerful motivator, driving improved performance. Survey results show that employees express high satisfaction with the benefits provided by the company, further reinforcing the positive impact of merit-based rewards on employee motivation and engagement.
