Abstract

The fast-food industry in the Philippines, exemplified by companies like Jollibee, has faced significant challenges, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective leadership has been crucial in navigating these challenges and ensuring organizational resilience and success. This study aims to explore how different leadership styles impact employee performance in fast-food establishments in Cubao, Quezon City. This study employed a descriptive research design to examine the impact of leadership styles on employee performance in fast-food establishments located in Cubao, Quezon City. A purposive sampling technique was utilized to select 40 participants, comprising both employees and supervisors from three different fast-food outlets. Data were collected using structured survey questionnaires, which served as the primary instrument for gathering information on various factors such as motivation, compensation satisfaction, work environment, and job satisfaction. The findings reveal a predominantly young, female workforce in the fast-food establishments of Cubao, Quezon City, with a preference for democratic leadership styles. Employees generally reported positive experiences concerning motivation, compensation, work environment, and job satisfaction. However, some scheduling issues were identified, highlighting the need for more equitable management practices. Effective leadership is crucial in enhancing employee performance and achieving organizational success within the fast-food industry. Building upon previous recommendations, additional strategies include:  Implement Employee-Driven Growth (EDG) Practices: EDG focuses on employee support, engagement, and development, utilizing recognition, rewards, and feedback to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.    Adopt Servant Leadership Principles: Servant leadership emphasizes prioritizing employees' needs, fostering a supportive environment that enhances job satisfaction and performance.   By integrating these additional strategies, fast-food establishments can further improve employee engagement, navigate industry challenges, and sustain growth, leading to enhanced organizational outcomes.
