Abstract

The teachers’ teaching strategy helps the students learn the desired course contents and develop achievable goals in the future. Teaching strategies identify different available learning methods to develop the right strategy foe student learning. The research design used in this study was the descriptive survey method. The results of the study showed that the teachers’ teaching strategy in terms of lectures, activity, and demonstration is effective as assessed by 50 Grade 12 Performing Arts students, with the weighted means of 3.74 for male respondents and 3.7 for female respondents. Both groups strongly agreed that effective lectures can be easily understood. Activities providing clear instructions are strongly effective as assessed by male and female respondents, with the weighted means of 3.14 and 4.18, respectively. With the weighted means of 3.57 and 3.92 for female and male respondents, respectively, teachers’ teaching strategies are strongly effective for demonstration. Based on the findings of the study and conclusions drawn the following recommendations were forwarded: lecture is mainly suggested, a clear visual aid is needed to help the students in their studies, and creative activities will help boost their creativeness. In terms of demonstration, it is highly recommended to make the lecture easy to understand and familiarize the students with the topic. The respondents said teaching strategy enhances the knowledge of students in the subject “Elements and Principles in the Arts” and makes the class easy to accommodate and fun.
