Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the level of digital proficiency among BS Office Administration students. The researchers aim to explore if there is any correlation between students' age, gender, and year level with their digital proficiency. The study seeks to determine how these demographic factors might influence students' ability to use digital tools and technology effectively, with the ultimate goal of identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance digital skills within the BS Office Administration program. The research strategy employed is a quantitative approach, which involves collecting and analyzing numerical data to gain insights into concepts, opinions, or experiences. This approach helps in generating comprehensive insights and exploring new research avenues. For this study, a total of 271 students from the BS Office Administration program were selected: 75 first-year students, 65 second-year students, 78 third-year students, and 53 fourth-year students. This sum represents the overall sample of 271 BS Office Administration students. The study reveals that there is a significant variation in the digital proficiency of BS Office Administration students based on their demographics, including age, sex, and grade level. While students across different year levels exhibit some knowledge of digital literacy, they are not yet fully proficient in digital competencies. This suggests that while they are familiar with digital tools and applications, their skills need further development. In today's digital age, proficiency in technology is a valuable asset, especially since many companies prioritize employees who possess strong digital literacy. For office administrators, this is particularly crucial, as their work environment is increasingly reliant on advanced technological tools and systems. The findings of this study provide important insights into the level of digital proficiency among BS Office Administration students and how it may influence their future employment opportunities. The varying degrees of digital proficiency among students could play a significant role in their readiness for technology-driven work environments. However, given the limitations of this study, it is essential to interpret the results with caution. This chapter reflects on the research methodology, addressing its limitations and the potential impact on the findings. In conclusion, the chapter provides recommendations for future research to further explore and refine the understanding of digital proficiency among students in this field.
