Abstract

This study explores the growing concerns of career anxiety and employment readiness among fourth-year Psychology students. As students approach graduation, many experience uncertainty and confusion regarding their career paths, making it essential to assess their preparedness for entering the workforce. A descriptive research methodology with a quantitative design was employed. A 30-question self-made questionnaire was administered to 100 participants. The questionnaire was divided into two sections: Set 1 assessed career anxiety levels, while Set 2 evaluated employment readiness in Clinical, Educational, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Data analysis was conducted using Slovin's Formula and Correlational Analysis. Findings revealed that most students experience career-related anxiety, with "feeling worried" about career decisions receiving the highest mean score of 3.13. In terms of employment readiness, students demonstrated the highest preparedness in the Industrial and Organizational Psychology setting (composite mean: 3.05), followed by the Clinical setting (2.93), and the Educational setting (2.87). These results emphasize the complexity of career decision-making and the need for targeted support in bridging the gap between education and employment. Addressing students' career concerns, aligning academic programs with industry expectations, and enhancing readiness in lower-scoring fields are essential to easing their transition into the workforce.
