UTILIZATION OF AI TOOLS IN COMMUNICATION EXPERIENCE AMONG GRADE 11 HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES AT BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technology that enables computers to perform complex tasks such as data analysis, making recommendations, understanding speech, and recognizing visual inputs. This study employed a descriptive-quantitative research method to describe the perceptions of the respondents. It involved one hundred thirty-three (133) Grade 11 students from Bestlink College of the Philippines. A cluster sampling technique was utilized to gather data. To address the research problems, a questionnaire was used as the primary data-gathering instrument, supported by statistical tools such as frequency and percentage, mean, ranking, Slovin's formula, and the Likert scale. The responses were interpreted using a four-point scale: Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, and Strongly Disagree. The findings of the study indicate that the respondents perceive the use of artificial intelligence as a tool that enhances user experience in communication—particularly in terms of language, medium, and social skills—as evidenced by an overall weighted mean of 3.32, which is interpreted as Strongly Agree. The use of artificial intelligence as an effective tool in communication received the highest weighted mean of 3.35, indicating that AI tools—such as real-time translation, language tutoring, and writing assistance—significantly contribute to enhancing communication. Based on these findings, the study recommends that schools integrate AI-driven tools into communication and language learning to boost student engagement, support the refinement of machine learning models, and ensure the implementation of ethical guidelines that address issues related to bias, privacy, and user consent.
