COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS OF BARANGAY OFFICIALS AND PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE IN THE CONDUCT OF CRIME PREVENTION IN BARANGAY NOVALICHES PROPER, QUEZON CITY

This study examines collaborative efforts between Barangay Novaliches Proper officials and the Philippine National Police in crime prevention within the community. It investigates the effectiveness of joint strategies, with a focus on communication channels, resource sharing, and community engagement. By analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, this study aims to identify factors that enhance or hinder successful collaboration in maintaining public safety. This study employs a descriptive quantitative design using purposive sampling to select 10 barangay officials, 10 police officers, and 20 residents of Barangay Novaliches Proper. A structured survey questionnaire was distributed to assess perceptions of collaboration in promoting awareness, enhancing public safety, and fostering community engagement. Collected data were analyzed using frequency distributions, percentages, mean scores, and overall weighted means to interpret respondents’ views on the effectiveness of partnership activities. The results of this study indicate the collaborative efforts of Barangay officials and the Philippine National Police in implementing crime prevention measures in Barangay Novaliches Proper, Quezon City. Based on these findings, the researchers present the following recommendations. The study highlighted that structured awareness programs, regular evaluation of crime prevention initiatives, and proper resource allocation were key to sustaining effective collaboration. Respondents reported that establishing clear reporting channels and publicizing patrol schedules improved trust and responsiveness. Periodic assessments allowed for timely adjustments to strategies, while ensuring adequate tools and support empowered both police and barangay personnel. Regular community meetings were found to strengthen resident involvement and address local safety concerns, reinforcing the collaborative framework for crime prevention.
