Abstract

The study entitled "Assessment of Terminal Policy on Selected Bus Companies Along Novaliches, Quezon City" aims to assess the effectiveness of terminal policies implemented by Citybus and Pascual Liner. It focuses on evaluating commuter satisfaction, safety, and security within these transport systems. The research explores how terminal policies impact the overall commuter experience, with particular emphasis on payment methods, ticketing systems, and the organization of loading and unloading operations. In response to the high number of commuters using Citybus and Pascual Liner services in the area, the researchers adopted a descriptive research approach to assess the experiences of 60 regular commuters. A Likert scale survey was utilized as the primary data collection tool to evaluate key aspects of terminal policies, particularly in terms of security measures and payment systems. Demographic analysis of the respondents revealed that the majority were male, aged between 18 and 22 years old. The results of the study suggest that commuters, particularly those using cash payments and concerned with fare accuracy, are generally satisfied with the existing ticketing and payment systems. However, the findings also highlight areas needing improvement—specifically in the loading and unloading processes. Respondents stressed the importance of improved communication between drivers and conductors, as well as the need for clearer signage and announcements to ensure smoother and more organized boarding and disembarkation. The survey findings indicate a strong need for regular bus maintenance, improved emergency response procedures, and enhanced security features such as CCTV surveillance and real-time incident reporting systems. The most pressing issues identified by passengers include overcrowding, insufficient facilities, and security risks. The study concludes that strengthening terminal policies is essential to ensuring a safer, more efficient, and commuter-friendly transport system. To address these concerns, the study recommends upgrading infrastructure, standardizing operational procedures, improving communication between staff and passengers, and enforcing stricter security protocols. These proposed enhancements are intended to increase passenger safety, satisfaction, and overall confidence in using public bus transportation services.
