Abstract

Working students have a strong sense of self-efficacy and are willing to work while studying
due to economics, scarcity of funds, and scarcity of financial resources. Self-efficacy is the
belief in one's capabilities to achieve a goal or outcome, and one is more likely to challenge
oneself with difficult tasks and be intrinsically motivated. Working and studying at the same
time can have positive or negative effects depending on the kind of learner and can enhance
the students' long-term job prospects because prospective employers see it as motivation and
initiative. Working students face a lot of responsibilities and time management, and it requires
a lot of effort to keep self-motivated and not allow stress to power them. The current crisis due
to the COVID-19 pandemic has led to some students working at fast food chains, as delivery
riders, and as student assistants in their schools.

The number of female and male respondents is equal and belongs to the age group 16-22
years old and older. Who was at ABM, GAS, HE, STEM, and HUMSS strands at Bestink
College of the Philippines? Most of the respondents are experiencing emotional distress
regarding time management, and improving their self-efficacy is essential to improving their
class participation. Students’ performance is greatly affected by their self-efficacy, which helps
them achieve better results.

Self-efficacy makes the students look for a brighter side of every situation, even if it's gloomy
or sunny, which leads them to dream and pursue a purposive life that they know they deserve;
that's why there's no hindrance for them to achieving it. Working student life is something
unimaginable because they carry their problems perfectly. Therefore, they are aware of their
weaknesses and strengths, which makes them brave enough to face any challenges in life
that include multi-tasking, time management, and handling conflict schedules during school
hours. To be able to provide for their own needs is a very challenging task, and it's important to
have a person who believes in them in every journey they make, which makes it easier for
them to carry every burden that academic challenges bring.
