EngineeringAbstract
Rice water is widely used in the Philippines as a watering agent and for its skin treatments,
especially for hair. Nowadays, the demand for hair care products is growing, and shampoos
are the most common items used to clean hair and scalps. Rice water is often discarded,
leading to water scarcity. However, adding rice water as an ingredient for making shampoo
could be a great help in saving water. Rice water can help people with hair problems such as
hair loss and irritations due to its positive effects. More study is needed to demonstrate the
advantages of using rice water, as the majority of scientific evidence is inconclusive. The
researchers propose this study to analyze the effectiveness of rice water as an ingredient for
making shampoo to promote the practicality and effectiveness of recycling rice water.
The result of the study, according to the two groups of respondents in terms of the above-
stated variables, is highly acceptable. It indicates that there is a significant difference between
and among the assessments of the two groups of respondents in the aforementioned
variables. The mean of the Men was 3.60, while the Women obtained 3.30. The variance for
men was 0.005 while women obtained 0.050. The T- computed value is 2.860. T-critical is
2.306 with a degree of freedom of 8. Therefore, it rejects Ho.
For further enhancement and improvement of the study, the ensuing discussions and the
recommendations proposed are as follows: Assure to balance the pH level of shampoo; refer
to different studies to improve this research; use mild cleansing agents and natural; add the
fragrance oil for the greater scent of the shampoo.
