Abstract

Education is valued to our society. However, many of college students are suffering from "Academic Burnout" because of the persistent academic pressure that is not alleviated by the exhaustion of their own resources and the university environment's ongoing, excessive study demands. Academic burnout is an issue that is becoming more and more prevalent and that impacts people at all levels of education, from elementary school to college. Therefore, the researchers choose this topic to enlighten the readers to the effects of academic burnout to the students.

The researchers found that:

1.The respondents assessment reflected “Disagree” with regards to experiencing academic burnout in the face-to-face setting. However, respondents both “Agree” that they indeed experienced academic burnout during online class.

2.In the case of 3rd year Bachelor of Secondary Education - students. The respondents assessed both school participation and schoolworks as “Disagree”. On which respondents still perform their duty as a student despite experiencing academic burnout.

3.The respondents both agree that academic burnout affects their emotional and physical.

4.The problem about financial problem rank the highest and therefore the biggest issue encountered by the students in dealing academic burnout. 

In accordance with the above findings, the researchers recommended classroom review session before the upcoming exam, ensure that the students are in the safe place where they can actively listen and participate, interactive activities, encourage collaborative activities, Built the interest of the students in joining extra-curricular activities or school programs by giving them additional points, considered the difficulties and number of the activities in creating deadlines. Be mindful, if there is a sudden decline of grades do not just blame be compassionate. Guide the students on how they can accomplish their activities. Promote activities that can easily be followed, involved socializing and avoid too much pressure among students. Encourage resourcefulness among students and reduce the cost of student’ s projects. And before the class begin remove all unnecessary things. Practice time management, develop healthy lifestyle and ask for professional help if necessary, acknowledge the difficulties students encountered and show openness for strategies that can generate positive result for students, promote school program that can cultivate interaction among students and develop their individual potential.
