Abstract

Students in Bestlink College of the Philippines confront a variety of persistent normative stresses, which can be classified as everyday annoyances such as academic pressures. Several studies have demonstrated that stress from health and social activities has a favorable impact on pupils' academic performance. Many studies on this topic have been conducted based on gender or educational levels to determine the impact on student academic performance. It is within this study that we want to find out how academic performance affects the level of stress.

The descriptive correlational-quantitative research design will be used using a survey instrument. The respondents of the study will be (3rd year students) for the total of (40).  Purposive sampling will be used in choosing the respondents to gain insights into the event or phenomenon under examination. The data that will be gather will be treated using ranking that will be used in SOP number one (1), Frequency Distribution and Percentage will be used in SOP number five (5) to determine the problems encountered by the respondent in stress, the weighted mean for problems number two (2) and three (3); Pearson Product Moment Correlations or simply Person will be employed for the four (4) to determine the significant relationship among the variables. The researchers found that the leading problem encountered by the respondents amidst the pandemic was the stress, which directely affects the academic performances of each respondent in the study. The data disclose the require result for the respondents that they need a mental health awareness program that will help them cope with stress whether inside or even at the outside of the school. Hence, this will allow the school to monitor the students’ academic stress where in it will lessen the dropouts, as well as the failing students.
