Abstract

One of the largest problems in the Philippines is the daily heavy traffic jam, mostly in rush hours, particularly around cities in the Luzon area. Heavy traffic may consume a considerable time of every passenger who commutes in different ways, thereby consuming a considerable amount of money. To solve the problems mentioned above, Central Luzon Integrated Transportation (Grand Terminal) is planned to be located in places where it is congested and has a large number of customers to develop safe and rapid trips without hesitating of the location they want to arrive. The study used quantitative-experimental research to collect data and information crucial in constructing the said study and utilized a simple randomsampling to gather respondents in assessing the level of acceptability of the Central Luzon Integrated Transportation (Grand Terminal). Using a questionnaire, the researchers surveyed to determine whether the proposed project is acceptable in terms of construction materials, accessibility, safeness, and overall project design. We constructed the template of the terminal for the better measurements of the floor plan, and we chose the construction materials to be accurately measured, cut, and made. Lastly, we created the design of the terminal to be presentable. The results in terms of construction materials, accessibility, safeness, and overall project design were acceptable as assessed by civil engineers and 4th-year Architecture students of Bulacan State University. This result indicated no significant difference between the assessments of two groups of respondents in terms of the cited variables. Meanwhile, civil engineers obtained an overall weighted mean of 2.73, which was interpreted as acceptable with a variance of 0.02233. Meanwhile, 4th-year Architecture students from Bulacan State University obtained an overall weighted mean of 2.93, which was interpreted as acceptable with a variance of 0.0203, a t-computed value of 2.21, and a degree of freedom of 17 (with a value of 2.567). Hence, t-computed is larger than the t-critical value. As a result, the assessment of the two groups of respondents was accepted. The subsequent discussions forwarded by the two groups of respondents are as follows: use LED lights to improve brightness outside the terminal and use wall paints instead of watercolors for a presentable appearance. With regard to accessibility, construct a proper space adjustment for buses and the proper location where the sign must be placed. In terms of safety to improve the design, maintenance and material, and compatibility of the terminal to the surrounding environment, researchers should pay additional time to the overall project design to ensure the high quality of the miniature and measurements for a presentable appearance of the miniature.
