The Pjen-Jem Online Ordering System is an e-commerce solution developed specifically for Pjen-Jem Metal Trading Co. The primary goal is to streamline ordering transactions for the company and simplify inventory management. Drawing inspiration from highly efficient and user-friendly e-commerce platforms such as Tiktok Shop and Shopee, this system aims to incorporate similar seamless ordering transaction processes and intuitive interfaces. While these popular platforms perform well in general e-commerce, a particular need exists for a tailored system to meet the specific demands and requirements of metal trading companies, notably with regard to inventory and transactions.
"In order to develop and implement a system tailored to the specific needs of Pjen-Jem Metal Trading Co., this study adopts a design and development research methodology using the Big Bang model within the Software Development Life Cycle SDLC." During the early planning phase, a full system delineation was undertaken before the commencement of operations, followed by an algorithmic development of flowcharts, data flow charts, user case diagrams, and Entity Relationship Diagrams. Subsequently, the system was designed, tested, and deployed. The testing was conducted in collaboration with a selected member of the company who provided critical feedback on usability and functionality. The data collection covered user feedback surveys, system usage logs, and performance indicators to provide an accurate assessment of implementation during and after the deployment."
Based on the various criteria of the ISO 25000 series of 2014, the excellent performance of the system, as demonstrated by a perfectly weighted average score of 4.0 for functionality, highlights its ability to meet users' needs. Furthermore, a reliable and efficient user experience is ensured by its strong interaction capacity, averaging 3,708. The system demonstrates its durability and adaptability over time, with a commendable commitment to safety and data integrity averaging 3.73 and an excellent maintenance capacity score of 3.93. In addition, its flexibility of an average of 3.83 allows for rapid adaptation to the needs of a growing user base. Moreover, the overall reliability and user satisfaction of the system is reinforced by its commitment to protecting users and operations, with an excellent safety rating of 3.78. Finally, the exemplary performance of this system on these key metrics reaffirms its position as a reliable and user-centric platform that is able to meet the evolving needs of PjenJem Metal Trading Co.
The online ordering system implemented by Pjen-Jem Metal Trading Co. notably boosts efficiency and inventory management. Positive staff feedback highlights the user-friendly interface and seamless transactions. While a limited sample size and evaluation period restrict the study, expanding these aspects in future research could validate these findings and promote wider adoption of such systems in the metal trade.
