Abstract

INTRODUCTION

A pupil-centered institution that aims for high performance in academic competitions is usually focused on the different factors that contribute to winning results. So, this study is prompted to determine the relevance of coaching attitudes of teachers in aiming for high performance in different academic competitions. It was undertaken for the teachers to develop their positive coaching attitudes.

METHODS

The Descriptive-Survey Method was used in this study and surveys were performed to discover some aspects of teacher's coaching attitude and style. The researcher used also questionnaires, observations, interviews on students' classwork, and achievement before and after the study.

RESULTS

Many proficient teacher-respondents in the given questionnaires and interviews conducted agreed that coaching attitudes of teachers affected the performance of the pupils in academic competitions. These are the positive attitudes of teachers who aimed for high performance of their pupils: optimistic, passionate, perseverance, with good health, faith to others and setting God as the ultimate source of all victories. Definitely, these positive attitudes conquer positive results.

DISCUSSIONS

The results show that attitude is the true secret for the success of all people of any professions and walks of life, specifically the teachers who are the beneficiaries of this study. Therefore, the most significant triumph we need to achieve for our pupils in aiming for high performance in academic competitions is to develop teachers' winning attitudes.
