Classroom Disciplinary Problems Encountered by Elementary Teachers as Inputs to Developing Pupils' Manual

INTRODUCTION
Discipline makes people behave in such a way that they do not trespass others and is vital in developing a peaceful community. Discipline is required on a daily basis from solid waste segregation to building a successful nation, also including classroom management. Discipline in a classroom environment is as important as it is in many aspects of society. The researchers, aware of the importance of discipline and its impact on the classroom environment, would like to explore and find the extent of its occurrence so that appropriate measures can be thought well. Hence, this study was conceptualized.
METHODS
Phenomenology is an approach to quantitative research that focuses on the commonality of the lived experience within a particular group. The fundamental goal of the approach is to arrive at a description of the nature of the particular phenomenon (Creswell, 2013). Typically, interviews and conducted with a group of individuals who have first-hand knowledge of an event, situation or experience. This study utilized this method of research because it determines the current or existing classroom disciplinary problems encountered by teachers. The sources of data of this study were the 10 primary and 10 intermediate teachers of Bagong Pag-asa Elementary School, Division of Rizal. Random sampling and fishbowl technique was employed in selecting the respondents.
RESULTS
Based on the study, the two groups respondents enumerated five major disciplinary problems which are Dishonesty, Disobedience of School Policies, Disrespect to Authority, Physical Aggression, and Verbal Aggression. The result was interpreted. The primary teachers identified perceived disobedience of school policy, physical aggression, and verbal aggression as the most often classroom disciplinary problems encountered, while dishonesty and disrespect to authority occurred sometimes. The intermediate teachers perceived dishonesty, physical aggression and verbal aggression occurred most often, while disobedience of school policies and disrespect to authority occurred sometimes. A pupils' manual had been developed based on the data gathered.
DISCUSSIONS
Based on the result of the study, it was found out that there is a significant difference between the problems encountered by the two groups of respondents. It suffices to say that the extent of the classroom disciplinary problems encountered and perceived by the primary teachers are different by those of intermediate teachers.
