DISCUSSIONS

Based on the conclusions drawn, the following recommendations were given:

During orientation, pupils must be requested to have a reading assessment to closely monitor their reading ability with comprehension level and be properly informed on the existing policy/procedure in Reading Readiness.

Teachers may keep on using informal reading interventions for assessment as a guide in their instructional planning anchored on the needs of the pupils.

PTC is the best time between teachers and parents. Parents must make it a priority to come to school during those times to keep in touch about their child's progress and be knowledgeable on the class standing of their children.

Teachers should meet/talk personally, send letters, contact and call the attention of parents to discuss important matters on reading intervention and ensure 100% follow up of reading at home.
