Child Protection Policy Awareness of Grade Five Pupils at Solo Elementary School

INTRODUCTION
Growing data and evidence shows that the risk of violence is present day-to-day and can become heightened during emergencies and protracted crisis. Unfortunately, violence against girls and boys can occur from people in positions of authority and trust. The researcher aims to increase the awareness of Grade V pupils of Solo Elementary School about child protection policy.
METHODS
This study uses descriptive research design as it intends to describe the pupils' perception of safety and security. Fifty-eight (58) Grade Five pupils in Solo Elementary School enrolled for the academic year 2018-2019 were the respondents. The performance of the respondents was evaluated through the scores obtained in the questionnaire. The data gathered were tabulated and organized for analysis and interpretation. The researcher design evaluation tools that will determine the positive effects of child protection policy relevant to the present student respondents
RESULTS
Majority of the students now are well aware of child protection policy. Their deeper understanding of their safety and protection boosted their self-confidence. They became more alert and responsive to every activity because they felt safe and secure.
DISCUSSIONS
The result demonstrates that pupils' awareness of child protection policy was of great help in their everyday living. It helps in creating a safe and positive environment for children.
