INTRODUCTION
The use of ICT in the classroom is very important to keep abreast with the latest trends in education and to provide opportunities for learners to learn to operate in an information age. While the use of ICT tools continues to advance in many parts of the globe, the Philippines, especially in rural and remote areas, still experience a lag in its implementation. Such situation continues to widen the digital and knowledge gap between us and other highly developed countries in the western world and other parts of Asian countries.
This study is very important to the issue of technology adoption in the classroom. We desire to know exactly the barriers encountered by teachers in this field.
METHODS
Multiple methods were used. We utilized the descriptive-assessment-survey method of research with the application of cross-sectional research study. It is a measurement process using a highly structured interview. In this study, cross-sectional research type was used. Simple random sampling technique was also conducted. This type of sampling was used for the selection of 50 respondents.
RESULTS
Teacher-level challenges in the use of ICT tools for learning and instruction are considered moderately serious by teachers. Lack of teacher competence is considered the primary reason for the failure of teachers in using ICT tools followed by their lack of confidence in using ICT tools and resistance to change and negative attitude towards ICT tools. School level challenges are also considered moderately serious challenges encountered by teachers in using ICT tools for learning and instruction. As proof, they encountered a lack of instructional time, making little use of technologies. Other challenges that teachers encounter can be further explored in another study. Providing ICT allowance is very much necessary to ensure their religious and faithful utilization of ICT tools.
DISCUSSIONS
The results demonstrate the great need to raise the level of utilization of ICT tools among teachers. By modernizing school technology, better quality education services will be provided to the pupils. Younger people who need educational services may be provided with the education they need as faster, more conveniently, more efficiently and more effectively as possible. More children will be provided with quality education due to complete modern school technology needed. This will save and give hopes to pupils who need attention and help.
