INTRODUCTION
All teachers have to deal with student misbehaviors on a daily basis. Even minor misbehaviors can lead to greater disruptions if left unchecked. As a Grade Three teacher, the researcher has observed that misbehavior is common even among these very young children. Dealing with misbehavior is not an easy task. In certain public elementary schools, misbehavior can be observed among the Grade Three pupils. A stimulus for these misbehaviors has to be discovered so that the teacher can find the appropriate reaction and action. There must be a give and take in the relationship between the teachers and the pupils, but it could not be seen now because while the teachers are doing their part in dealing with them, pupils are just making fun on it. This often results in poor standing. Thus, the primary concern of the teacher is to identify the pupils' behavior problems and provide a solution to minimize or to eradicate them so that effective and efficient teaching-learning situation can be attained.
METHODS
The researcher used the descriptive method of research. To obtain an estimate of the internal consistency of the questionnaire, the researcher used the test of reliability in finding the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. The obtained reliability was 88 percent which indicated that the questionnaire was valid and reliable. The respondents of this study were fifty (50) Grade Three teachers of public elementary schools in Lemery District.
RESULTS
Loud talking, disruptive talking, and shouting were the foremost misbehaviors displayed by the pupils. Among the factors that cause misbehavior among grade three pupils, nagging in front of others by parents and communication gap were the foremost factors. The proposed recovery program was designed to improve the behavior of the pupils.
DISCUSSIONS
The top common misbehavior of pupils was loud talking with forty-three (43) or eighty-six percent. The respondents rated being nagged in front of others by parents as the first in rank among the factors that caused misbehavior among pupils with a weighted mean of 2.78. All the items in the extent of the attributions of the teachers in dealing with the misbehavior of pupils were rated as moderate in extent such as minimized attention of learners.
