C4B: A learning Portal on Standard Cabling

INTRODUCTION
The study revealed that the performance of ICT students in Bula National High School is in fairly satisfactory (Silvestre, 2017). In this study, the researchers decided to make a learning portal about cabling to improve their skills and elevate the performance of the next ICT students. This means that the need for the development of learning competencies for standard cabling must be addressed. The study, C4B: A learning portal on standard cabling, aims to develop a well-designed learning portal for the students taking ICT (Computer System Servicing that addresses the above concern.
METHODS
The researchers made use of a quantitative approach and developmental method, particularly the weighted mean, throughout the study. In selecting the respondents of this study, the researchers used purposive sampling and chose the teachers teaching ICTat Bula National High School Senior High School. With the use of the survey questionnaires and the presentation of the learning portal to the teachers, needed data was collected. The data gathered was computed and analyzed thoroughly.
RESULTS
Based on the collected results, the learning materials being used in Bula National High School for standard cabling are Google, ICT modules, tutorial videos on YouTube and CSS modules. The acceptability level of C4B in terms of content is highly acceptable; the relevance to the topic is highly acceptable too; for the features, it is also highly acceptable; and for the appearance, it is moderately acceptable.
DISCUSSIONS
The result gave the researcher a clear idea on how to improve the learning portal and how this learning portal works and can be used by the students taking ICT (Computer System Servicing). The learning competencies that can be achieved through the use of the C4B include: the students will be able to perform cable splicing based on the basic standards; and, the students will be able to install network cables. The gathered comments and suggestions for the improvement of the research are the following: use and original video for the tutorial; upload the portal as soon as possible; modify the design, and improve the quiz part. The study also reveals the kind of instrument that an ICT teacher uses to teach students in a modern way.
