INTRODUCTIONThis study focused on the awareness of the teachers in implementing new trends of educational approaches in Dagatan National High School. It analyzes the teachers' awareness in the new trends and approaches, their abilities, skills, and capabilities in the world of technology and multimedia-based teaching. Based on the result, teachers have enough knowledge with the new trends of educational approaches. However, some found the new trends and approaches not so effective in the teaching and learning process for they themselves were non-computer literate and no longer interested to learn the multimedia-based teaching. The researcher suggestedan action plan to help teachers in developing an awareness of the new trends and approaches to be implemented in the classroom suited for the effectiveteaching and learning process in the modern world of technology.METHODSThe researcher used descriptive and purposive sampling to gather information with the teachers as the respondents. Forty teachers prompted to answer the questionnaire and for the study to be reliable, the researcher also used the weighted mean to know the level of the teachers' awareness of the new trends and approaches. The composite mean was used to get the exact weighted mean.RESULTSBased on the study, teachers have enough knowledge with the new trends of educational approaches and they can use several tools like role-playing, case studies, and presentations to make education process interactive and productive. Using multimedia, they can confidently adapt to the new trends and approaches. Modern trends in education changed the way teachers teach and the way students study, making them more accessible to all. However, some teachers found the new trends and approaches not so effective for they themselves are non-computer literate and elaborated that they were not aware of the new trends and approaches. They were somehow confused if they were using the new or the traditional one and they don't even know how to address each of the approaches, eventually rejecting the idea of self-learning.DISCUSSIONSThe researcher determined the issues on implementing new trends of educational approaches and suggested that teachers should enhance their knowledge with the new approaches by attending in-service training and seminars enhancing the use of modern technology in school. There were similar parts from what Wilson had stated in his studies, saying that the teacher should portray the role as a facilitator and no longer the "boss" who will dictate what should be done inside the classroom. So, teachers should be technologically uplift. In the study of Emdin, there was similarity in the approaches being studied and used like the POGIL, Hip-Hop Ed, Project -Based Learning, Reality Pedagogy, and the Flipped Classroom.
