INTRODUCTION
Online Library Management System is a web-based application for easy management of the library. It is the solutions for managing the library more efficiently and effectively and making it more engaging to learners. It is used by librarians to manage the record of various transactions like the issue of books, the return of books, the addition of newbooks, the uploading of e-books, the monitoring of the inventory of the books, and the addition of new students, etc. The Library management system solution can be integrated with Barcodes for easy access and retrieval of any item from the Library. Thus, this solution can be linked with self-service for quick search and online requisition. Different libraries of organizations or institutions use the software designed according to their demand.
METHODS
The researchers used descriptive developmental research method in developing an accessible web-based automated online library management system. The project is designed and coded in HTML, PHP, CSS, JAVASCRIPT and database management was handled by MYSQL. Data flow diagrams were created for the facilitation and managing various transactions in the library.
RESULTS
The project helps librarians in effective and efficient library management, which provides modern techniques like automatic data entry and bar code scanners capable of speeding up transactions and minimizing errors. Further, students can have immediate access to learning materials using their cellphone as well as librarians in maintaining library holdings of the school.
DISCUSSIONS
Based on the results, the proposed automated online library management system contains features not present in the usual library management system, particularly separate user login and dashboard facility for students and librarian. It also teaches students to learn digital communication and education using their phone for accessing and downloading materials offline.
