Attitude of Grade 7 Students Towards the Teaching of Araling Panlipunan in Lumbangan National High School: Basis for an Action Plan

INTRODUCTION
Araling Panlipunan is one of the most useful and important subjects taught in school. It has been in existence since the beginning of time as people of certain ancient civilizations made use of studying and putting into account the events of the past to keep track and move forward through different innovations. History serves as the base for creating certain advanced technologies or instrument to promote and prosper a better way of living. Generally speaking, social studies, be it named "History" or "Araling Panlipunan" in more basic terms, feeds the curiosity of every individual, resulting in our present generation’s better way of living, with each one owning their personal sense of "how" and "why" of every event. Effective or successful learning of Araling Panlipunan, therefore, makes a community knowledgeable. Araling Panlipunan deals with the study of the evolution of the human society within individuals as control figure on how people's ideas and events in the past help shape the present and how humanity will manage the present to attain a desirable future.
METHODS
The study utilized the descriptive method of research which made use of the questionnaire in the form of a survey in gathering the necessary data. Descriptive method was viewed suitable to the present study as it focused on the attitude of the students in teaching Araling Panlipunan in grade 7 in Lumbangan National High School.
RESULTS
Most of the respondents were all teenagers and dominated by females. The respondents strongly agreed on their attitude towards Araling Panlipunan in terms of teachers, subject, lessons, and class performance. There was no significant relationship between the attitudes of students toward the teaching of Araling Panlipunan when grouped according to their profile variables.
DISCUSSIONS
The respondents revealed that there was no significant relationship between the responses of respondents regarding their attitudes towards the teaching of Araling Panlipunan. This only proved that the profile of the respondent had no relation when it came to their attitudes on the teaching of Araling Panlipunan.
