Assessment of Wellness Program in Teaching Physical Education among Elementary School Learners

INTRODUCTION
This study aimed to assess the wellness program in teaching Physical Education among elementary school learners in terms of awareness, implementation, and impact. It was conducted for the purpose of assessing the wellness program in teaching Physical Education among Elementary School Learners in Tanauan North District in the Division of Tanauan City.
METHODS
The descriptive-correlation method was used in the study. A researcher-made questionnaire, revised, and validated by the adviser and panel members, was distributed to the respondents to determine their perception.The main instrument used in gathering data is the questionnaire made by the researcher. The respondents were 141 elementary school teachers of Tanauan North District. The study employed the weighted mean and chi-square formula as statistical tools.
RESULTS
Based on the findings, the teachers assessed the Wellness Program in Tanauan North District in terms of awareness and found it as highly aware. In terms of the program’s implementation, it was perceived as highly implemented while they strongly agree that there is an impact in its implementation. There are no significant relationships between the awareness regarding the wellness program and the status of its implementation in school; awareness regarding the wellness program and impact of the implementation of the wellness program in school; and status of implementation in school and impact of the implementation of the wellness program in school. Hence, the null hypotheses were accepted.
DISCUSSIONS
Based on the findings, a training program is proposed to enhance the facilitation of the Wellness Program in Elementary School Learners. It is recommended to the parents, teachers, Department of Education officials and future researchers for their reference.
