Abstract

The results of this study are believed to provide the school administrators, stakeholders, and teachers with essential knowledge as a basis for an enhanced work immersion program that will surely benefit the future learners who will undergo the program. Moreover, this study will also serve as a springboard for further studies and as an opportunity for teachers, school heads, subject group heads, and parents to ensure that the learners will benefit most from the enhanced program.

METHODS

The study covered the pilot implementation of the Humanities and Social Sciences work immersion program in the second semester of School Year 2017-2018. The study made use of the descriptive research method with a survey questionnaire to assess the HUMSS work immersion program.

RESULTS

It was found out that 72.9% of the respondents gained an Outstanding (90-100) grade in the program. Regarding the assessment ofthe HUMSS work immersion program, it was found out that the respondents assessed the program regarding leadership, attitude towards work, competence, and training and evaluation as "Excellent." On the other hand, the respondents assessed the work immersion venues as "Excellent" mainly in rating collaboration and teamwork, decision-making and empowerment, work ethics, and rewards and incentives. The respondents rated communication as "Very Satisfactory." On the other hand, there are no evident problems encountered by the respondents during the work immersion program with an average weighted mean of 2.03, with a transmuted equivalent of "Seldom Encountered."

DISCUSSIONS

There is also a significant difference in the assessment of the HUMSS work immersion program, specifically on collaboration and teamwork in the work immersion venues across the preferred curriculum exit.
