INTRODUCTION
The Reading result of Grade 3 pupils in Pacheco Elementary School shows that 7 pupil falls under frustration. This means that most of the pupils cannot comprehend and some can only recognize a few words. At this stage, we expect that our pupils can comprehend the simple short story. We all know that reading with comprehension is very essential in one's abilities not only inside the classroom but also in real life.
METHODS
Researchers used and adopted the PHIL-IRI as the instrument to determine the pupils who will undergo interventions in reading. The pupils were selected according to the result of PHIL-IRI who falls under the frustration level. These pupils were given interventions and effectiveness of SPARK such as 1. Flashcards, 2. One-on-One reading with a teacher, 3. Group reading, 4. Reading chart with questions to be answered, and 5. 11:30 Reading Habit.
RESULTS
The PHIL-IRI Post-test was given to these pupils who fall under the frustration level and results reveal that 4 pupils fall under the Instructional level and 3 pupils were at the Independent level. No more pupils fall under the frustration level.
DISCUSSIONS
The finding shows that applying different interventions on SPARK, those pupils who were initially at the frustration level had improved to instructional and Independent levels. SPARK helps in improving pupils who faced difficulty in reading. Continuous reading not only inside the classroom helped the pupils a lot.
