INTRODUCTION
This study aimed to find out the effectivity of an online educational platform in the teaching-learning process of the 21st Century Literature of the Philippines and of the World. Specifically, this study aimed to identify the level of competence of the two groups of respondents, one group will be engaged in Quipper School, based on their first long test; to extricate any significant difference between the test results of both groups; to know if the online platform is an effective learning technique for a literature class; to be aware of the glitches that the respondents may encounter in using the online platform; and, to solicit solutions from the respondents for resolving the perceived problem/s.
METHODS
This study made use of the mixed method design under a quasi-experimental scheme. Two groups of respondents were engaged. One group used the Quipper School while the other did not. Both groups took a long test after one month. The researchers made use of combined Convenience Sampling and Purposeful Random Sampling.
RESULTS
After acquiring permission, the researchers conducted a focus group discussion among the respondents and followed by the retrieval of the respondents' 1st periodical grade in 21st Century Literature. The next step was the utilization of the Quipper School in one class while the other class went on with the traditional teaching-learning process. Then, the retrieval of the 2nd periodical grade in the said subject followed. TheT-test application for the two sets of periodical grades came next. Conducting an interview guided by the researcher-made open-ended questions with the respondents followed. This was done to test the attitudes of the participants. The data gathered from the interview was evaluated using a thematic analysis.
DISCUSSIONS
The researchers found out that the online platform, Quipper School, is effective for teaching the 21st Century Literature subject of the SHS. However, glitches were discovered hindering the effectiveness of the said application. One of the glitches is the speed of the internet connection. The solution offered for the said glitch is using the PisoNet promo in computer shops. Students may opt to save 1 peso per day from their allowance. 1 peso is equivalent to 5 minutes of internet browsing in a computer shop. The research is both heuristic and holistic. It covered the students' total human development. The platform conforms to the 5 pedagogical approaches (Constructivist, Collaborative, Inquiry-based, Integrative, and Reflective) mandated by the RA 10533.
