Educators and psychologists have long acknowledged the existence of this problem greatly affecting the performance of 21st century designed learning.
METHODS
A testing method was used for the observed results.Pupil attitudes towards mathematics subject were determined by identifying the Grade Point Average of the selected pupils in Mathematics at their previous level. A 25-item pre-test in Mathematics was conducted to find out their achievement level through their MPS. The test was the basis for their initial performance. Finally, a 25-item post-test wasgiven during the students’ MTAP Saturday Mathematics Program.
RESULTS
The research found out that the implementation of the MTAP Saturday Mathematics Program greatly increased the achievements of the pupils in Mathematics. Improving Mathematics teaching is a continuous concern of every educational institution in their goal of attaining a high-level performance. The teacher was challenged to upgrade the competencies in Mathematics of the pupils. The Grade pupils who participated in the program have valid data from the tools used.
DISCUSSIONS
The results demonstrate that MTAP Saturday Mathematics Program is significantly related to the achievement level of the Intermediate Pupils, particularly the Grade 4 pupils who participated in the study. The program must be implemented by educators. These show that teachers should encourage their pupils to join the MTAP Saturday Mathematics Program, that parents should support their pupils’ participation in the said program, and that pupils should uplift their thinking and suffice their knowledge of the subject to eventually realize that mathematics is really a part of their lives as they go to a higher level of education.
