Acceptability of Cooperativism among Accountancy, Business and Management Students in General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School

INTRODUCTION
The Department of Education is firm in its commitment to exposing students to practical experiences and work-related environment to produce world-ready and work-ready senior high school graduates. Forming student cooperatives inside the school is believed to be effective in supporting this commitment, especially in the field of entrepreneurship. In response, the study aims to determine the level of acceptability of institutionalized student-cooperatives among Grade 11 Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) students.
METHODS
The respondents consist of 166 students from Grade 11 from the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) senior high school strand of the General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School. The study used purposive sampling for selecting a sample from a statistical population in such a way that every possible sample that could be selected as a predetermined probability of being selected. Quantitative analysis and interpretation of data were utilized to identify the relationship between numerically measured variables with the application of statistical techniques such as weighted mean and Pearson R correlation.
RESULTS
The research has shown that there is high acceptability for cooperative among Grade 11 under the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) senior high school strand of the General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School. Their reasons include skills enhancement on the management of a cooperative business for the student body; better opportunities for student loans for all members; and added knowledge from cooperative education to prepare students for future employment. However, there is no significant relationship between the awareness of cooperative advantages and cooperative acceptability.
DISCUSSIONS
The results of the study indicate that cooperative implementation within Grade 11 under the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) senior high school strand of the General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School will be majorly accepted because of the student-perceived benefits derived from its undertaking.
