INTRODUCTION
The problem of welding students in Lopez National Comprehensive High School is the training equipment that can be used to perform the basic welding knowledge. The primary purpose is to develop a welding post positioner with multi-function to all welding positions. It covers the welding position, including the groove weld and fillet weld. The developed welding post positioner is made up of galvanized iron pipe for the post and angle bar, flat bar, galvanized iron sheet and plunge for the base stand and drawer.
METHODS
The manufacturing development, the operation, and testing procedures, including all the testing procedure and evaluation process to be used in this study, were also presented.
RESULTS
The prototype was tested based on the six (6) categories; first and second is time speed on adjusting the pole A and B with the result of 7.47 and 6 seconds, interpreted as there is a significant difference. Third and fourth is time speed on rotating and adjusting the arm fitter A and B the result is 7.8 seconds and 7.33 seconds interpreted as there is a significant difference. Time speed on assembling the positioner arm is 11.8; there is no significant difference. Last is time speed on setting the workpiece with an average of 5.33 seconds interpreted as there is a significant difference. The welding post positioner is functioning obtained a mean of 4.47, which means "Very Good." The evaluation results showed a significant effect of the product in terms of functionality, efficiency, workability, safety, economic value, aesthetics, and effectiveness. This project will constructively boost the learning capabilities of the students of the school. Furthermore, innovation by the future researchers may be added to improve the product further. Overall, the product seemed very well and prosperous.
DISCUSSIONS
Using the developed welding post positioner, weldment can easily be reached, and the welder can move freely to weld joints. It is more comfortable and safer to use, and the parts can be easily assembled and can be adjusted to any position. It is also capable, efficient and has a lightweight structure that can be carried by two persons.
