Abstract

INTRODUCTION

Educators know the benefits of ICT based materials in teaching. Despite this, many of them are resistant in using and integrating these technologies in teaching. This issue is due to several factors lack of time, lack of infrastructure, and tools to support the teachers and the learners more effectively. The lack of ICT skills is a common problem which can be addressed by having the personal desire to develop oneself. Some of the traditional teachers experienced difficulties in using ICT based instructional materials in teachingEdukasyon sa Pagpapakatao.

METHODS

This study utilized a descriptive survey method using frequency, percentage, weighted mean distribution, and one-way ANOVA as statistical tools. It determined A Proposed Information and Communication Technology-Based Instructional Material's acceptability and usability in teaching Grade 9 in the Fourth Congressional District of Quezon with 21 Secondary School Teachers as respondents.

RESULTS

Findings revealed that the majority of the teachers were at the age bracket of 31 to 40 years old, females and with a length of service between 1-10 years. The respondents' view on ICT use in their schools needs teachers to enrich their knowledge and capabilities in using technology. On professional views on ICT, it exemplified that the school increases academic achievement (e.g., grades). Along with support to teachers for ICT, etc.) When it comes to ICT access for teaching, it reflected that both teachers and students use the computer: units and the internet. In terms of conditions on access in classes, it illustrated that there needs computer laboratory. The perceived quality of the proposed information and communication technology-based materials is excellent in their school. There is high acceptability of ICT proposed instructional materials in terms of relevance to the subject matter and impact on students' performance.

DISCUSSIONS

Teachers should be encouraged to pursue advanced degrees for continuing professional development through study grants and scholarships. The implementation of information and technology-based materials should also be done. ICT provides access to high-quality learning resources and increases efficiency in education.
