Development of Supplementary Worksheets in Enhancing Pupil's Proficiency Level in Solving Word Problems Involving Multiplication at Miranda Elementary School

INTRODUCTION
This research focused on the reasons why pupils encountered difficulties in solving word problem specifically in multiplication and developing effective and efficient learning tools and interventions to enhance learner's ability in solving a multiplication word problem.
METHODS
The researcher makes use of a questionnaire to identify and analyze the proficiency level of the students in solving a word problem involving multiplication. It consists of 5-word problems involving multiplication as a fundamental operation.

DISCUSSIONS
The given test results revealed that students have difficulties in the analysis of word problem. They misinterpret the problem that leads them to use incorrect mathematical operation. They also exhibit other factors such as carelessness, understanding unfamiliar words and they did not memorize multiplication table as well.
