Abstract

INTRODUCTION

Working while studying is becoming an increasingly common phenomenon among students. Many children live in economically deprived families and hence have to work to ensure the survival of themselves and their families. Factors that have to do with a lack of quality of the education system can also lead to children leaving school and entering the labor market before they have completed education. However, many students want to pursue studying to reach their dreams. This study will be a tool in knowing the concrete scenario of the bonspiel of a certain working student.

METHODS

This employed a qualitative research design. Multiple case study approach was used in this study to gather information. Multiple case study was utilized as it recognized the importance of the subjective human creation of meaning (Searle, 1995) but does not reject outright some notion of objectivity. We employed in-depth interviews, observation to ensure a rich pool of data. Besides, these data gathering techniques also enabled me to present a comprehensive cross-case analysis and a thorough comparison of the experiences of working students.

RESULTS

Five themes emerged upon gathering the information and characteristics of being a working student and these are as follows: set your priorities, learn to be happy, be a good multi-tasker, manage your time properly. Findings revealed that the aspiration of being a working student was self-efficacy, work hard and make it happen, and self-motivation.

DISCUSSIONS

It showed them how to juggle the huge number of contribution, schoolwork, and get-togethers that they visit. In like manner, they figured out how to be adaptable and pushed them to sort out their lives. Consequently, teachers need to consider the circumstance of these working students since they are coping with their subjects. Studying needs a relaxed mood and for the working students, who are frequently tired from working, the administration should consider the relevant factors that will enable these students to work while still do well with their studies. While they buckle down, they will likewise feel the benefit of finding out more and building up their aptitudes that can add to their development as people.
