Abstract

Work-Life balance is a concept that has been practiced long before the phrase existed, but has only recently gained popularity. This study was conducted to assess the perceptions on work-life balance by the female banking employees in Eastwood, Quezon City based on work-life balance policies offered and implemented by their organizations, support provided by the organization as a whole, by the supervisors and by the colleagues, the workload assigned to these employees, their work expectations, and their work satisfaction. The study also aimed to determine if there is a significant difference in the employees’ perceptions when grouped by profile. The quantitative research method was selected and survey questionnaire was used as the research instrument to collect data. The researcher was able to retrieve 105 completed survey questionnaires out of 120 distributed. There were 120 female banking employees in Eastwood, Quezon City. The details collected were analyzed using Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) software. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to determine whether there is a significant difference in the employees’ perception on work-life balance. The results revealed that when respondents were grouped according to age and nature of work, there was no significant difference in their levels of agreement on all variables. When grouped according to average number of hours at work per week, average number of overtime hours per week and tenure, there was a significant difference in their levels of agreement on workload.
