Abstract

Siblings play an important role in our life. They provide companionship, and emotional support in childhood, and throughout the life course. Thus, the interaction of students in social activities iscalled socialization. The researchers would like to understand these socialization skills known as interpersonal and intrapersonal skills that will help the SHS students to be confident in socializing through the influence of sibling status. Birth order and social and family interactions of a child in a family have a great impact on his/her career decisions, commitment and self-esteem in the individual’s life span. By the use of survey, descriptive and correlational method, the researchers were able to analyse the results. This research yielded a result that the interpersonal and intrapersonal skills of the only child and with siblings has a significant difference. This led to the conclusion of creating a plan of action to facilitate positive social interaction on the challenges encountered in social interaction among only child and those who have siblings.
